Position Description: Title I Paraprofessional 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Classified, 9-Month Work Calendar, 40/hrs. week

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The main purpose of this position is to assist with instruction and supervision of intensive students, assist with small group instruction and maintenance of Title I documentation. Position longevity will be determined by the Title I federal grant.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Work with individual students in the classroom to reinforce learning material or skills introduced by the teacher
• Work with small groups of students in the classroom to reinforce learning material or skills introduced by the teacher
• Maintains accurate files and student records
• Performs other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationship with students, peers, teachers and administrators
• Plan and organize work with effective and efficient management of multiple priorities
• Competent in flexibility
• Follows through with directives
• Experience and knowledge of filing and organizing paperwork
• Working knowledge of educational practices, processes, and techniques
• Skill in oral and written communication
• Experience and knowledge of student needs at different ages, educational and developmental levels

MINIMUM QUALFIICATIONS:
PRAXIS or Work ways test accepted, or Associate Degree, or, 60 College Credits and one (1) year work experience that meets the standards of Highly Qualified status for ESSA.Valid Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Bilingual preferred. Able to perform the following physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation: critical sensory requirement include general vision, corrected to 20/20, hear or listen in the normal range (corrected) and speak and give directions clearly. Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, read, lift up to 50 pounds.

OTHER POSITION INFORMATION:
Hours will be in relation to the school site hours. Continuing positions, if offered, may be rearranged as needed to best accommodate the needs of the students.
